1. Client-Side Processing
Unlike traditional web applications, ScanMyChat processes your WhatsApp backups (.zip, .txt) exclusively within your browser using WebAssembly and JavaScript. Your files are never uploaded to our servers (AWS, Google Cloud, etc.). Once you close the tab, the data is wiped from your browser's memory.
2. Information We Collect
Since we do not process your files on our servers, we do not collect or store your chat contents, images, or contacts. We only collect minimal metadata required for payment processing (via LemonSqueezy) and basic website analytics (e.g., page views) that cannot identify you personally.
3. Cookies & Local Storage
We use local storage to save your preference settings (e.g., Dark Mode, "Don't show again" popups). We do not use cookies for tracking or advertising purposes.
